I finally went through all of the toys and put all the ones that Connor can work with while in the cast in a bag. Now I feel organized. The last week or so I feel like we are now in a routine. When Thomas is awake Connor crawls all over and stands at the train table or kitchen and plays. But once the Thomas is asleep out comes the goodie bag.
I have been putting Connor in the high chair and he starts with a snack, I have to get him warmed up to the cast. So he eats raisins or vegie straws or puffs with his right hand. I was told that the level of difficulty in picking objects up is:
off a surface: hardest
off your palm:
out of your fingers: easiest
We tap blocks together, pull apart velcro fruit, pull apart snap-blocks, play with stacking toys, and he puts shapes in the bucket.
So far Connor can pick up raisins or other smaller items out of the palm of may hand with his right hand. Which is AMAZING! What is even more amazing is that at dinner tonight Connor was eating his yogurt with a spoon in his left hand and I offered him a piece of chicken and he reached out and grabbed it with his right hand. He even made it to his mouth on the second try. Go Go Go Connor!
